Three Methods of Galvanostatic Intermittent Titration Technique- GITT Test by Neware Battery Cyclers

 

 

In the feedback from our customers, I have learned about three common modes. The first is to make a judgment on the battery during the charging and discharging process; the second is to make a judgment after the rest time has completely run out; the third is It is judged after the charging and discharging time is completely run.

Here we use 1mA current to charge a battery to 4V and discharge to 2V. Let's make an explanation.

 

The first type:

1. Rest for 30 minutes.

2. Charge with 1mA current for 30 minutes. If the charging reaches 4V or more within 30 minutes, jump to the next step. If after 30 minutes of charging, if the voltage is less than 4V, return to step 1.

3. Rest for 30 minutes.

4. Discharge with 1mA current for 30 minutes. If the discharge reaches 2V or less within 30 minutes, it will jump to completion. If after 30 minutes of charging, if the voltage is greater than 2V, return to step 3.

5. End.

The charging and discharging process takes 5 seconds longer to meet the 30-minute condition.

 

 

 

The second type:

1. Charge with 1mA current for 30 minutes.

2. Rest for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, if the voltage is less than 4V, return to step 1 to continue charging; If the voltage is greater than or equal 4V after 30 minutes, then go to the next step.

3. Discharge with 1mA current for 30 minutes.

4. Rest for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, if the voltage is greater than 2V, return to step 3 to continue discharging; if the voltage is less than or equal to 2V after 30 minutes, the test is complete.

5. End.

The rest process takes 5 seconds longer to meet the 30-minute condition.

 

 

 

The third type:

1. Rest for 30 minutes.

2. Charge with 1mA current for 30 minutes. During this process, the battery voltage will be judged after 25 minutes is fully charged. If it is less than 4V, return to step 1, and if it is greater than or equal to 4V, go to step 3 and put it aside.

3. Rest for 30 minutes.

4. Discharge with 1mA current for 30 minutes. During this process, the battery voltage will be judged after 20 minutes is completely discharged. If it is greater than 2V, return to step 3, and if it is less than or equal to 2V, it will end.

5. End.
